The Dolphin Class submarine is an exceptional design based on the “standard” parameters of the Class 209 family, but adapted to the very precise specifications of the customer navy. Her layout is proof of HDW’s renowned flexibility when it comes to coping with specific operational requirements.
The Dolphin Class submarine provides high operational value thanks to the new weapon expulsion system. Torpedoes, missiles as well as mines can be launched from the 10 torpedo tubes. Reloading is done by means of the semi-automatic weapon loading equipment. Besides her high fire power, this class of submarine provides a high degree of automation for the propulsion plant, navigation and handling of the boat. Two decks offer space for the crew and the advantage of an undisturbed Combat Information Centre (CIC).
